Rotko Stjuart (www.rotkostjuart.me) is a virtual music hero behind whose avatar stands a group of artists from Podgorica (Montenegro) aiming to build a recognizable regional brand through their original multimedia work. The authors and musicians in the band perform masked, keeping their identities hidden from the public. The focus of the Rotko Stjuart project is on music and art, rather than on individual team members or their personal identities.
Rotko’s music explores multiple genres, ranging from funk tracks with elements of disco and electro-pop to emotional pop-rock ballads.
The first single, “Igram sad” was released in November 2021 and attracted attention from audiences across the region. The single was accompanied by a music video that won First Prize in the “Best New Artist Video” category at the 2021 Muzzik Video Awards and was also nominated for Best Music Video of 2021 at the same regional competition.
Rotko Stjuart continued with successful singles such as “Na pirun pipun”, “On daje ti nešto (Splačina)”, “Pjesma za Evroviziju (I Wanna Funk You)”, “Ja više ne znam ko si”, and “Oblaka provala” that have been broadcast on numerous radio and TV stations in Montenegro and the region. These singles are available on major music streaming platforms, while Rotko Stjuart’s official YouTube channel has over 270,000 views to date.
Rotko Stjuart made a breakthrough from the digital world with its first-ever live performance alongside a full band at the Rockstrikcija Festival in Podgorica in June 2024. The first live performance, enriched by original video production, received highly positive reactions from the festival audience and media reviews.
In the summer of 2025, Rotko Stjuart plans to release and promote its debut album, featuring ten original songs.
The goal of Rotko Stjuart project activities and live performances by the Rotko Stjuart band is to build a Montenegrin music brand that stands out for its authenticity, makes a impact on the regional music scene and contributes to a cultural initiative aimed at connecting the EX-YU region through urban and artistic expression.
Rotko Stjuart’s music is available on Spotify, Deezer, and iTunes, while the official YouTube channel can be found at:🔗 https://www.youtube.com/@rotkostjuart.
